5 Popular Artists to Keep an Eye On

What is art? That’s a good question. It’s a word so subjective. It’s impossible to pinpoint. But it’s also a question that’s been asked since the beginning of time, and for a good reason: there are artworks, and there are artworks. They’re synonymous. The answer is not so simple.

Finding a definition for art is like finding a needle in a haystack: there seems to be an opposing theory to disprove it for every definition. From what we can tell, art is the creation of works that result from conscious processes, which are created for the purpose of pleasure, which afford us a means of communicating with others, which come together to create a bigger picture are protected by copyright.

Definitions of what art is are as varied as the artists who produce it, and what exactly makes something an artwork is the subject of endless debate. Art is a popular subject that philosophers, artists, and just plain curious folks have been discussing for centuries. The subject of art is usually handled in two different ways. The first is to consider what art is or is not by examining what the defining characteristics of art are. The second is to examine the process of how art is created and the history and evolution of the art form.

People have always been fascinated by art, from cave paintings to the Mona Lisa. Art is a way to express an emotion, an idea, a feeling, or a reality. It can be a representation of the world and the artist, or it can be an abstract expression of the artist’s own feelings.
